Cape May County, NJ, has a craft beer and wine scene that runs well past summer, with tasting rooms from the Cape May Airport to downtown Cape May Court House. Here are the breweries and wineries in Cape May County to visit this season, all open year round.
Cape May Brewing Company
- Town: Lower Township (Cape May Airport)
- Where: 1250 Hornet Road
The county’s biggest brewery runs a tasting room, beer garden and Brewtique open daily: Sunday 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Wednesday 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Thursday to Saturday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Book a “Tour and Pour at the Shore” brewery tour or take the self-guided tour.
MudHen Brewing Company
- Town: Wildwood
- Where: 127 West Rio Grande Avenue
A year-round brewpub serving its own craft beer with lunch, dinner and a late night menu. This holiday season it hosts the Holidays at HenVille Shopping Village on select weekends from November 29 to December 20, 2026.
Slack Tide Brewing Company
- Town: Cape May Court House
- Where: 1879 Route 9
Founded by two brothers raised in Cape May County, Slack Tide brews a wide range of beers with all natural ingredients, sourced locally when possible. Pets are welcome.
Whale Tale Brewing
- Town: Cape May Court House
- Where: 28 Indian Trail Road, Suite 103
Whale Tale says it has the most taps of any brewery in Cape May County, and it offers “Champagne Island” flights of 12 beers. Bring your own food, enjoy the free popcorn or catch a food truck.
Obscura Brewing Co.
- Town: Cape May Court House
- Where: 205 North Main Street
A 7 barrel brewery with 15 taps in the county seat, pouring beers that use traditional techniques with a creative twist.
Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery
- Town: Rio Grande
- Where: 600 South Railroad Avenue
Established in 2008, Hawk Haven grows its grapes on the Cape May Peninsula. The tasting room and wine shop are open daily all year, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in winter, with guided tastings of six wines that take about 45 minutes. Walk-ins are welcome.

Willow Creek Winery
- Town: West Cape May
- Where: 168 Stevens Street
Billed as the only Napa style winery on Cape May Island, Willow Creek is open daily for tastings with farm fresh hors d’oeuvres and offers vineyard tours by cart. The patio is pet friendly.
Cape May Winery and Vineyard
- Town: Lower Township
- Where: 711 Town Bank Road
The oldest operating vineyard in Cape May County started as a test planting in 1989, and today about 23 acres are planted across four vineyards on Townbank Road. The tasting room serves a daily tapas menu.
Plan ahead: Tasting room hours shift through the winter, and some close early on weekdays. Check each website before you go, and pick a designated driver or book a ride.
